Aidan Naude took 2nd place with a respectable haul of 34 points and Peter Morcombe in 3rd with 30 points. This course certainly played more difficult than the total distance and scorecard lead us to believe.

Congratulations Russell Davie, winner of the Cottesmore Classic.

Aidan Naude finishing 3rd with a haul of 35 points.

Russell Davie and Paul Felix were also the Nearest the Pin winners and Ryan Fox took the Longest Drive prize as well as the 'Most Golf' prize for his tally of 15 points- a long way off his massive haul of 44 points in March! What a leveller this great game can be!

An excellent turnout for our first official event of 2009!
Thank you to all those that took part in our first official event of 2009 at Sherfield Oaks and a warm welcome to Chris, Bonie, Brett, Julian and Andrew. Bonie is also the 1st lady golfer to participate in a Teeoff fixture. I'm sure you will all agree the weather turned out to be far better than was forecast and even though the wind did make for quite testing conditions, all in all it turned out to be a fairly decent day for golf.
Congratulations to Ryan Fox winning the individual stableford competition, with a fantastic haul of 44 points off a 12 handicap, shooting a gross 76 giving him a nett 64! In 2nd place was James Slatter with the best gross score of the day, a 75, accumulating an excellent 39 points off a 6 handicap, just pipping Kevin Trudgeon who also scored 39 points, on a count out.

Utilising sheer power and some controlled force, Longest Drive winner was the diminutive, yet deceptively powerful Shane Arbuckle, with Ryan Fox and Darryn Aitken taking the nearest the pin prizes.

2008 Order of Merit Winners- Andrea Bosi & Aidan Naude
Congratulations to the winners of the 2008 Order of Merit, Andrea Bosi and Aidan Naude, for a fantastic finish to a hard-fought, excellent year of Teeoff golf fixtures, both of them finishing on 65 points, winning the Order of merit by just 3 points from last years winner Mike Wright (62 points, 5 handicap).

Winner of the final Teeoff fixture at Traditions was Duncan Taylor scoring an excellent 42 points in the weather conditions and James Slatter made it an Aussie 1-2 by finishing 2nd with 40 points. Aidan Naude finished in a very creditable 3rd place on 39 points and together with the Nearest the Pin on the 10th hole- an amazing shot that he very nearly holed- propelled him from 5th to tie 1st place in the final Order of Merit standings.

*** NEXT EVENT: Merrist Wood Masters- Saturday 11th July 2009 ***

Next fixture takes place on Saturday 11th July at Merrist Wood Golf Club.
The club is located just outside Guildford in tranquil countryside and is just 5 minutes from the A3, convenient for London and the M25. The holes offer a great deal of variety. Water comes into play on 5 of the holes and strategically placed bunkers can catch wayward shots so there is a premium on keeping the ball straight on this testing golf course.
